@prosupps carrot cake my cookie review – 290 cal / 8f / 36c / 18p .

First off, the carrot cake aroma with this cookie is spot on 👌 very inviting to say the least. 80g weight of the cookie so it’s a good size. Carrot cake cookie with a glaze on top makes it look very appealing as well. Very very soft texture and good carrot cake flavor but I did find it to kinda die out as you chew and the more you chew it does get a bit grainy unfortunately. Very dense as well. Might have something to do with it. .

Overall – 7.5/10, still one of the better protein cookies on the market and macro split is very good as far as competition goes but needs a bit of tweaking imo .

Visually it’s a very very deep red cookie with a white icing over the top. Very comparable macros in the protein cookie realm of things. Soft cookie as it breaks easy, and chews even easier. Dense texture, and Very subtle flavor that isn’t too strong but definitely is just enough. You get hit with red velvet then finishes with a smooth icing that’s almost makes it feel like it’s a cream cheese icing. Definitely was a fan of this cookie, and I’m not a huge red velvet kinda guy either. .

Overall – 8/10 , definitely a cookie to pick up and give a shot. Great job by @prosupps

Pumpkin Cheesecake Muffins

Pumpkin Cheesecake Muffins

Calories – 164 / Fat – 7.6 / Carbs – 18.3 / Pro – 7.2 per muffin(makes 12 total)

Pumpkin just never gets old does it? I love cheesecake, I love pumpkin. If your dieting and eat a low fat diet like I do, it can be a pain getting something like cheesecake to fit, well I worked some magic for ya.

Ingredients:

130g of Pumpkin spice cookie spread(or cookie butter/peanut butter of choice)

1 box Fat Free Cream Cheese room temp

 1 Scoop Muscletech Cinnamon Whey

120g Pumpkin Puree 

1.5 oz Walden Farm Pancake Syrup

12g Truvia or other granulated sugar 

2 whole eggs 

12 Ginger Snap cookies 

42g Pumpkin Spice Morsels

Pinch of Salt

1 tsp Vanilla Extract

1/2 tsp cinnamon 

1/4 tsp nutmeg

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 330 degrees 
  2. In a bowl beat your cream cheese very well until smooth. 
  3. Add in your sugar, whey, flavorings, and cookie butter. Beat well. 
  4. Lastly add in your eggs and beat slowly until incorporated. 
  5. Line a muffin tin with liners than place a gingersnap in the bottom of each one.
  6. Pour your batter over the cookie until almost full. Repeat x12
  7. Divide your morsels evenly throughout your muffins
  8. Place tin in the oven and bake for roughly 25-30 min or until done. You want almost all of the giggle out of the muffins. 
  9. Remove from the oven and set on a cooling rack to bring to room temp. 
  10. Once at room temp, put in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to finish setting.

Mint Chocolate Protein Cake!

Ahhh, back to the roots. Long ago I use to bake a protein cake almost every single day.
@thephysiquemechanic and I were talking and decided I would start throwing some recipes and content in his weekly newsletter, so here we are. .
.
@muscletech Chocolate Mint Andes Cake w/ @eatenlightened mint ice cream, @waldenfarmsinternational choc syrup, cool whip, and a few more Andes pieces. Who says healthy can’t be pretty! Presentation is everything! .

Macros:

Cals: 350

Fat: 11.6

Carbs: 45.9

Protein: 23

Ingredients:

1/2 Scoops Mint Chocolate Protein(I used MuscleTech’s)

16g Coconut Flour

10g All Purpose Flour

10g Truvia(or granulated sweetner of choice)

5g Cocoa Powder

70g Greek Yogurt(I used Whole Milk Plain)

60g Unsweetened Applesauce

7g lite butter

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp mint extract

Unsweetened almond milk or other liquid to bring together if needed

10-20g depending // Andes Mint candy pieces or other choc/mix-ins “optional”

Walden Farms Chocolate Sauce “optional”

Instructions:

Kept this very basic and extremely quick to do as I didn’t have loads of time preparing this. I made this directly for the busy health minded dessert lover.

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  2. Prepare your baking dish. I used a 6 inch ramekin but you could use anything you have handy.
  3. In one bowl sift together your dry ingredients(cocoa, flours, baking soda, baking powder, and salt). Then mix in your add ins.
  4. In another bowl add your butter and sugar and mix. Then add in all the rest of your wet ingredients( yogurt, vanilla, applesauce, milk)
  5.  Pour your wet mix into your dry bowl and combine well.
  6. Pour your batter into your baking dish and place in the middle of oven.
  7. Bake for roughly 25-30 min. Bake time will vary depending on baking dish/protein/etc
  8. Use the toothpick test to check if cooked all the way through. Once done, remove and place on a cooling rack.
  9. Once cool, pop out of the baking dish and place onto the rack to finish cooling.
  10. Once cool, decorate however you want, slice it up and share, or wrap and freeze it to enjoy later!

Tips/Suggestions:

For added protein add in eggs, egg whites, more Greek yogurt, or even increase your protein powder/liquid ratio

To reduce the fat amount use 0% Plain Greek Yogurt, eliminate the butter and increase yogurt or applesauce slightly, leave out the Andes candies.

6 inch ramekin works really well for personal sized cakes but you could get away with breaking this up into cupcakes, a bread loaf, or any other pan you have. Just watch bake time!

Some lower calorie options for decorative toppings would be 0 calorie Chocolate Syrup from Walden Farms, low calorie ice creams like Enlightened, Halo Top, or Arctic Zero, and use lite or fat free cool whip

In preparing my pan I like to spray with a non stick cooking spray then place a piece of parchment paper on the bottom to help prevent any sticking issues.

Today I’m very excited to bring you a review from the first meal prep company I have tried/worked with! I have always thought it was a great idea to have well made pre-made meals ready to be heated and consumed similar to those unhealthy frozen TV dinners. Diet To Go comes in and fits the bill perfect.

They not only have one menu, but 3 separate menus. Balance contains well balanced macros and taste without having seafood or vegetarian options. This is the menu I will be reviewing today. They also have a completely vegetarian menu as well as a Diabetic friendly menu as well!

The meals I will be reviewing today are 3 breakfast options, 3 lunch options, and 3 dinner options.

Turkey Burger, Pretzel Roll, Ketchup, Orange & Craisin Salad –

First thing you think of when you hear Turkey burger is DRY, but not in this case. DTG has brought a good size, moist burger with a nice pretzel bun. The burger itself could use a touch more seasoning, but the burger eats well, and pairs with the pretzel bun very well. Great macro split here for a lunch/dinner.

Veggie & Cheese Omelet with Fire-Roasted Tomatoes

Absolutely mouth watering smell with this dish. The fire roasted tomatoes really give off such an inviting aroma. Great macros from someone that is following a low carb diet. The omelet was a bit watery and I felt needed some salt and pepper to help make it pop a bit more, but overall not to bad of a dish and plenty of veggies to go with.

Spinach Quesadilla, Black Bean & Mint Salad, Asparagus Spears –

What a combination for the bean salad! That was a new one for me, and something I am going to remember! Extremely refreshing, lite, good combo of flavors, but I felt like it was just missing that last little bit of pop to make it outstanding. Quesadilla was great size and loved the flavor combo, but needed to be slightly stronger in flavor.

Macaroni and Cheese, Carrot Coins, Broccoli –

My nephew was around when I was trying out a few meals and this was definitely his favorite! The little man just couldn’t put the fork down! Big tender shells smothered in a creamy cheese sauce, what’s not to love? Very surprised and pleased at the overall macros and the amount of protein that’s in the dish for it just being mac n cheese. The noodles were cooked perfectly, but I just felt the mac needed a bit more overall flavor increase. Still yummy though.

Chicken Pesto Salad, Whole Wheat Roll –

I wish I would of got a picture of this! I thought I did, but I couldn’t find it so just trust me on this one when I say that the Pesto salad had great chunks of chicken, creamy, good size portion, good overall flavor, and not to strong of pesto flavor. Absolutely great cold salad. The roll was a touch sweet, but also just a touch dry, but I thought the roll and salad paired well together. This salad would also go great on toasted bread or with crackers!

Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwich, Tropical Fruit Salad –

IMG_3179IMG_3273I unfortunately I only got a picture of the fruit salad for this dish. The Egg sammy was a bit small in my opinion and needed more flavor. Overall flavor was a bit bland. The tropical salad on the other hand was delicious. Great mix of all the fruits you would expect to be in a tropical mix.

Breakfast Pizza and Spiced Apples –

One of my favorites! Hearty sized serving with good amount of toppings. Great and generous cheese coating. I heated my pizza in the oven which I would highly recommend to make this taste the best. I felt the crust could of gotten crispier, but it was very soft and fluffy texture, so not bad just was expecting something a bit crispier. Overall flavor wasn’t terrible but I thought a bit of Italian seasoning would do wonders here. Apples where delicious and a great pairing, the only issue I found was a few lingering apple cores on a few pieces that made for a bad mouth feel and had to spit it out.

Turkey Picadillo, Brown Rice Pilaf, Apricot Glazed Asparagus –

This was my favorite dish! Great glaze and nice cook on the asparagus to start. The Turkey also had great flavor, abundant, and a good mix of meat, rice, beans, and extras. I felt this dish also had one of the best macro splits to be had. I would definitely eat this again.

Thai Turkey Tenderloin, Stir Fry Rice, Green Bean Medley –

The tenderloin had overall good flavor and spice to it. Tomatoes were plump and juicy, and the green beans were cooked well. They still had some of their crunch left to them, which is what I’m looking for. For me the rice had a little to much soy in it, and took over the other flavors inside the rice. I felt everything but the rice could of had a bit more salt to it.

Overall I really enjoyed the content I got from DTG and with a few minor seasonings they are doing a fantastic job at providing a well balanced, well portioned, macro friendly, quick, and convenient meals to people that are looking for an avenue to explore when they are short on time but want to get in quality nutrition.

Quick and easy Healthy Milkshake 101:

1 pint Mint Chip @halotopcreamery
8 oz Almond milk(or milk of choice)
15g @oreo Cereal
Blend together. Pour into glass of choice. Feel free to drizzle @waldenfarmsinternational chocolate sauce in glass as well. Top with Fat free cool whip and reduced fat Oreo. .

Whole milkshake – under 400 cal and over 20g of protein. Add some Creme De Menthe and you got yourself a protein packed grasshopper 😎😎👨🏻‍🍳 Want to kick it up some more, add a scoop of muscletech cookies and creme!

Protein Coffee 2 ways!

Getting my caffeine fix for the day. Quick, simple, and easy to make! 
.
1-2 handfuls of Ice
6-12oz oz Milk/water
1-6oz of cold brew @alphamind_coffee 
1-2 scoops of @muscletech mocha cappuccino whey
@waldenfarmsinternational chocolate sauce optional.
Blend all together and enjoy for a low fat/carb high protein ‘ice coffee’
Amounts vary on how big you want your drink to be.

Or because it’s fall and pumpkin everything is in season, you can try this! 

Blended 2 handfuls of ice with 8-12oz of fresh brewed coffee, a scoop of @muscletech creamer, and a dash of cinnamon. Perfection👌I typically like black coffee, so this wasn’t overpowering with sweetness.

Caramel Apple Shooters

Fall has some of the best flavors in my opinion. Pumpkin, Apple, caramel, cinnamon, who doesn’t love that? Extremely easy breakfast/snack/dessert idea for you today! Caramel Apple Shooters!

1. Mix 1 svg favorite yogurt (I used plain GY) with 1 oz maple @waldenfarmsinternational and 1 scoop cinnamon @muscletech

2. In a separate bowl mix 2 svg SF Apple pie filling with caramel @waldenfarmsinternational syrup. Make sure the apples are broke into small pieces.

3. Later some yogurt into your glass, then apples. Repeat until your out of mixture. Place cut up Apple cinnamon @detourbarand a splash more of caramel sauce on top.

4. Devour! .
